More about Honduras Visa Photo - Requirements

Honduras Visa Photo Guidelines

Honduras is officially known as the Republic of Honduras and is the second-largest country in Central America.

To travel there, you might need a visa but a big part of applying for any travel documents requires attaching at least two photos to the application. This is why you need to meet the requirements to be able to make your perfect Honduras visa picture!

In this guide, you will find out how to take the right photo for your Honduras visa, what mistakes not to make while taking visa photos and what are general dimensions.

Honduras Visa Photo Requirements

Each country has its own rules regarding visas photos. If you think about travelling abroad you might need a visa. Read carefully all the requirements and prepare yourself for a future journey with the right Honduras visa photograph.

Honduras visa photo size

For the Republic of Honduras you might be asked to submit even three identical photographs in size of 2 inch x 2 inch (51 mm x 51 mm) in width and height. In these pictures your face should take between 60% - 70% of the photo (1" x 1 3/8" from the chin to the top of the head).

Other specifications regarding Honduras visa photo:

  • both your face and your shoulders should be visible in the photo
  • the face must be centred in the photo and no more than six months old, to ensure an up to date likeness
  • the photo must clearly show the person's facial features in a straight forward position from the tip of the chin to the crown of the head as well as the left and right sides of the face
  • it must be ensured that the head (including the hairstyle) is fully depicted without reducing the size of the face or covering the face
  • the back of both photos must be blank

Background

The background should be white or light-coloured without any pattern or shadows. The glares should not appear both in the background and on the photographed person so make sure you choose the right room for the photo session. In the photograph should appear only the photographed person (no other people or objects).

Head position

Your face and eyes must be straight towards the camera so we can see an equal amount of each ear and cheek. The head of the person photographed should be neither at an angle nor turned (portrait style). Your head must be square to the camera which means that your face can not be tilted.

Eyes

The person in the photo must look directly into the camera. The eyes must be open and clearly visible and they cannot be covered by hair or spectacle frames. The camera should be positioned with the lens at the eye level of the person being photographed, not from above or below.

Facial expression

Your facial expression in the photo should be neutral with your mouth closed without laughing or smiling, frowning and without showing your teeth. Both of your eyes should be open and visible, contrived expressions such as raised eyebrows or squinting are not acceptable.

Photo quality

Photographs should be printed in colour on high-quality paper with a print resolution of at least 600 dpi (especially when taken with a digital camera) and no creases or impurities. The colours of photos must be neutral in color and skin tones should appear natural. You cannot edit your photos, for instance, by removing spots or red-eyes, softening lines or changing anything.

Glasses

Wearing glasses is not recommended. If you take them off it will guarantee your photo submitting. However, if you must wear them, make sure there are no glares anywhere on the glass and the frame doesn’t cover any part of your eyes. The eyes must be clearly recognizable (reflections from glasses, tinted glasses or sunglasses are not permitted).

Head covering

In general, headwear is not permitted. Nevertheless, for medical or religious reasons you can wear them but your face must be visible from the lower tip of the chin to the forehead and no shadows should appear on the face.

Lighting and contrast

The face must be evenly illuminated but better don’t use the camera flash as it has changed the natural colours of skin or eyes unless you are in a photography studio. In home conditions you should use daylight. Reflections or shadows on the face as well as red eyes must be avoided. The face must be sharply focused in all areas, rich in contrast and clarity.

Honduras visa photo guidelines for babies and young children

Since children need their own travel documents the process for them to get a passport or visa is similar to adults’ one. You have to take photos for them as well as for yourself if you plan to take your baby with you on the board.

To help you with the process of taking Honduras photo to visa for your child we prepared a short guide:

  • Only the child can appear in the visa Honduras photo. Even if you want to hold the baby, you have to make sure that your hands aren’t visible in the frame.
  • Take the photos when your children are awake because they have to have open eyes.
  • Remember, whenever you will take the photos (If your baby is sitting in a car seat or lying on the bed) you have to put a white sheet on the backrest or underneath to achieve the necessary white background.
  • You must remove any object from the shot, such as headwear, pacifiers, toys, etc.

Adults and children’s photos of visas are quite similar when it comes to specification. The difference is that a child’s head can appear smaller in the shot and it is a little more difficult to work with your child who not always will do what you tell them. Try to make it a fun thing to do for them that they don’t get bored quickly. Both of you can enjoy this unusual kind of activity.
