The first thing you need to take care of while renewing your Italian passport abroad is your Prenot@mi Account. If you don’t have your profile yet, follow the instructions on the website and set up an account. There, you’ll find all the necessary information about your passport and supporting documents.
Your Prenot@mi account is absolutely essential for booking passport appointments abroad. So, to renew your Italian passport in the UK, you must have access to the system. Moreover, before starting your application, ensure that your birth certificate has been formally registered with the Italian authorities—if not, it must be attached to your application.
Depending on your residency area, you can apply at your local Italian Consulate in Manchester, Edinburgh, or London. You’re eligible to apply there only if you’re registered in the AIRE system.

Note 1: If your passport has been lost or stolen, you must identify with a national ID card or another original passport. You must also submit a British Police online report and the Italian lost/stolen passport form ETD1-DEN1.

- A passport form MOD2 for children aged 0–11, completed in capital letters and signed by both parents. Important: If one of the parents is a non-EU national, they must provide their passports and have their signatures verified.
- A passport photo authentication form AFT2.
- Three passport photos.
