Taking a photo for your ID has never been so easy.
Follow simple instruction to take a perfect ID photo.
The distance between the face and the camera should be about 40 cm. Ideally the photo should be taken by the other person.
Place your face in front of the lens. Hold the camera at eye level and keep neutral face expression.
Stand facing the light source, for example an exposed window. The background will be cut out, don't worry about it.
Passport photos need a white or off-white background. Otherwise, your application will get rejected. But—what if you don’t have the right spot in your home? Or you’re just tired of using clunky background removers that make you sign up, sit through ads, or blur hair? That's when our AI-powered tool comes into play. Our intelligent algorithms can automatically erase any background for a passport-size photo, regardless of complexity, and replace it with a white one in under 3 seconds. Zero technical skills required.
After you’ve taken a self-shot, upload your photo, and let us take care of the rest. Our high-precision passport resize tool will crop it to a square 2 x 2 (51mm x 51mm) image, analyse your facial biometrics, and leave just enough space above the head and on each side. We'll then ensure your face is centred in the frame for guaranteed compliance with the official composition requirements. No manual work is needed.
If you have a printed photo you'd like to turn digital, it must be scanned at a resolution of 300 DPI to get the green light from the Ministry of External Affairs. But don't worry, we can help. Simply upload your photo, and we'll run a series of checks to see if your image meets the dots per inch condition. Easier done than said.
After you've taken a photograph you're happy with, we'll generate a printable 4 x 6 template with 2 images of you. You can print it at home or elsewhere, cut out your photos, and submit them with your application. We can also ship the printouts to your doorstep if you want to avoid crowds.

The correct size of an Indian passport photo is 2 x 2 (51mm x 51mm). It should also be in colour.
There are a few things that can get your passport photo rejected. Some common reasons include shadows, poor colour balance, and improper facial expression.
Ensure your hair isn’t covering your eyes or brows and your facial features are visible. If you have long hair, brush it back behind your shoulders to make the attire seeable. In the case of head coverings, they aren't allowed except for religious reasons. Still, the facial features—from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead and both edges of the face—must be clearly displayed.
Your passport photo must be printed on thin photo paper or stock.
You cannot wear sunglasses or tinted glasses in a passport photo. Yet, regular eyeglasses are allowed if you wear them regularly—just be careful to avoid lens glare that might obscure your eyes. When it comes to makeup, it’s not forbidden as long as you opt for neutral colours. If you’re a man, it’s also OK to have a beard in a passport photo. Finally, in terms of attire, it’s best to put on clothes you usually wear. Avoid uniforms or clothing that resembles a uniform or camouflage.
In short, yes. To do it, ensure there are no toys, chairbacks, or other people in the photo. Then, take a frontal photograph of your baby with a neutral expression and their mouth closed.
It’s best to stand or sit straight, look into the camera with your head centred in the frame (not tilted), and maintain a neutral expression or unexaggerated smile.
