- Make Passport Photo
- 123 Passport Photo
- ID Photo DIY
- EGreen Card Photo

- Passport Photo Now
At the bottom of the article, you’ll find a recap chart which sums up the website tools and its different criteria. Enjoy!
1. Passport Photo Online is the best passport photo creator: best value for money, and time
If you want to save your time and energy, using a photo/selfie that you like, you should turn yourself to Passport Photo Online. For 4.99€, you have your photo framed, so that it meets all the ID, passport or visa photo requirements. All of this in less than 5 seconds!. It is automatic, you don’t have to do anything and you can also have a preview before buying it, which isn’t always the case with the other websites listed below. Also, you’ll automatically have a professional and uniform white background, included in the price. At the bottom of the page, you can also choose from more than 60 languages. Quick, easy, cheap and clear to get the best passport photo ever!
2. How about Visafoto, what’s your opinion?
Visafoto is probably the second best after Passport Photo Online. The big flaw is the time it takes to rearrange your photo, it can be pretty long. But for less than 5 euros, you have your new photo with a blank and white background. What is also good is that you can download your photos directly after paying and you will receive the printed ones soon afterwards. Their acceptance rate is of 99.5%, which is pretty good. Also, they will refund you if your passport or visa photo is not accepted. It is easy to use you just have to upload your photo and the rest is modified by a professional: they scale and crop the image to the right dimensions, fix the background, fix tilted heads However, you don’t have a preview before buying it and the automatic cropping tool isn’t perfect…
3. Odd Prints…affordable good quality photos with expensive delivery
Odd Prints not only offers ID photos. You can print whatever you want! Once you have selected your photo, you can just decide what dimension you need or select the passport dimension that the website already offers. Beware that they can change the background into white but it is actually only the frame of the photo. Pictures only cost 0,78€ which is great because it is good quality paper, and you can download it for free. However you’ll have to pay 5,95€ for delivery, so in the end the photos cost more than 6€!
4.Persofoto is convenient but a bit expensive
Persofoto has good promises: for about 8€, you can pick your photo and have 6 Passport Pictures printed and sent to you for free. You can pay extra to get your photos delivered more quickly. The photos are printed on premium-quality paper and ready cut. The service includes compliance-check and professional image retouching. Over 99.9% acceptance rate is guaranteed. Once on the website, the crop is manual. You can have a preview by downloading the photos for free.
5. My Passport Photo… guarantee not included
Contrary to other websites My passport photo asks you how many photos you want, from one (3,86€) to twelve photos (11,61€). The website is not the most intuitive, it asks you lots of information before proceeding payment and offers various photo types printed on glossy paper. For an added cost of 3,86€ you can ask for an expert photo edit who will ensure that your photo is 100% compliant, otherwise you will have no guarantee your photo will be accepted for an official document. The delivery price is 2,89€. You must wait between 7 and 14 days before getting your photo(s).
6. Make Passport Photo will probably be good in the future
With Make Passport Photo , you can’t have your printed photos delivered at home. They are still developing a new option for 5€ with image background correction, compliance check, 99.9% acceptance rate, free printing and delivery. For now, you can only download your picture for free. You can manually adjust and crop. For now, it’s free but not great. In short, it isn’t developed enough for now and their paid version coming out soon has good promises.
7. 123 passport photo… Pay and print it by yourself!
123 Passport Photo is pretty easy to use, the website offers various photo dimensions depending on the country and document selected. The cropping tool is manual, so it’s up to you to crop your photo. There is one top line and one bottom line to help you crop your head. Then you can choose between 5 enhancements to improve your photo. After that your photo is generated! You can buy the photo for 4,60€. The good thing about this website is that you can choose one filter that turns your photo better and you can get your money back if the photo is not accepted by the government. However you cannot ship the photo, you have to print it by yourself…
8. ID Photo DIY…Great but must print at home
ID Photo DIY is an intuitive website. It offers various types of photos once you have selected your country. One great thing is that this website has linked a video from the U.S Department of State so that you take the perfect picture. Otherwise the website is quite similar to 123 Passport photo: it is built the same way and it also offers the same filters. The price is the same as well $5,96 USD (4,60€) but you can’t have your photos sent home it’s only digital. So, is it really necessary to pay for something that other websites offer for free?
9. Egreen card photo… perfect only if you need green card
Egreen card photo, is a website that gives some tips before asking you to take your own photo, in a well-explained way! There is no background correction, so they advise you to take a photo standing in front of a white wall. Once you have selected your photo the cropping is manual. You can download your photo for free! The only negative thing about this website is that it would be only useful if you’re a US citizen looking for a photo for your green card, the website does not offer any other service.
10. Epassportphoto: the verdict is that… they lie a lot
Epassportphoto guarantees 99.5% of acceptance rate and 100% money back if the photo is not accepted. They promise you a price starting from 0.99€ for one photo purchased, with free shipping. The thing is that once in the basket, you have to order at least 2 photos and they charge you for the shipping, waiting 5-10 business days. You can see that the price has jumped to almost 10€ now, for only two photos. You can’t download the photo in the meantime. Only available in English. Not the best service for me.
11. Passport photo now is perfect if you want to spend a LOT of money without having a real preview
Passport photo Now is easy to use, once you have chosen your photo you can add comments and special instructions for your photo, a service that few other websites offer. For 2 photos you’ll pay 9,27€, and you will have additional cost depending on the delivery. On the home page the delivery is said to be free, but the cheapest delivery option is actually 1,72€, an express delivery can go up to 79€! There are lots of additional services from 7€ such as a CD that includes a digital version of your photo (who uses CD nowadays?). One big negative side is that you cannot have a real preview of the photo. In brief, lots of useless services just to pay a huge amount in the end, whereas lots of other websites offer the same service without reaching such high prices.
12. Paspic photo: what a pain… I tried it for you so you don’t waste your time
Paspic seems nice at first. 99.5% of their photos are accepted on first submission, your passport photo will be printed on photo-quality paper, and posted to you for free in Europe in 2 working days . They also provide you with a link to your digital passport photo. But before all this, they explain how to take the right picture, you can’t choose one of your existing ones, except if it is really good. So, the process is so long and annoying! They refuse loads of photos, so you need to take the right one, and validate their awful captcha: you won’t save much time, it’s better to go to a photobooth at this rate…. Afterwards, you have to reply to some questions, which is a weird process when you know that a professional should be there to check for you. The crop is bad, and once in the basket, you can see that the price hasn’t changed, 6€, which is good, but the status shows “compliant” … I can assure you that my photo was not, and I was irritated. Apparently though, the photos are manually checked by members of the Paspic team to ensure they are at a high standard and compliant before being posted. In short, they explain you how to take your picture the right way, but they won’t help to modify it. Next.
Below, you’ll find the table summarising the 12 website reviews. Make sure to check at the end if you prefer to try the mobile app version!

How about mobile apps? Do they make your life really simpler?
I have tried for you the four best ranked mobile apps on Play Store to help you figure out if it is really worth the case to try them! As for the websites, you’ll find a mini recap chart at the end to summarise our review!
1.Passport Photo Online: my honest review
The app is ranked 4.4/5 on this day (13/07/20). For me, it is the most intuitive, time-saver app of the four. You can take a picture with the right dimensions AND you can easily choose from one of your existing photos which will be analysed and processed quickly. The result is good, even for the free version: the quality and sharpness are great. Everything is automatic and quick, you just have to wait for your photo to be processed with an ad in the end. Your top passport photos are ready to print in less than two minutes spent on the app and they’ll meet the official requirements! Thank god! If you don’t believe me, you might want to read the review of Passport Photo Online published on Italian website that reviews mobile apps.
2. Passport Size Photo Editor – ID Photo Maker: you learn how to take an ID photo with your smartphone
Passport Size Photo Editor is rated 4.6/5. What I think is that this app isn’t made to modify your pictures. You download the app to take a passport picture, full stop! It was impossible for me to use a photo already saved in my gallery. Among over 400 pictures on my phone, not even one was suitable for the app. After I took my shot, I was pleased to see that I could change the background by colouring it. But this option is actually a joke to be honest. It is like a child painting, there’s nothing professional in this… You can see by yourself with the screenshot just below. Story’s conclusion, Passport Size Photo Editor only enables you to take a picture with its background filter to help you calibrate the size and position of your head.
3. Passport Photo ID Maker Studio is a twin of Passport Size photo editor with annoying ads?
Passport Photo ID Maker Studio is also rated 4.6/5. It doesn’t surprise me that they both have the same evaluation, as they are both very similar. They both offer the same tools and background to help you take your own picture but makes it impossible to choose from an existing photo in your gallery. Contrary to the previous app, this one is much more covered with annoying and noisy ads. What could be better is their premium service to make a uniform background. What shocks me once again though, is the high score on Play Store…
4.Passport photo… Hmhmm, there are so many improvements which need to be done
I was so disappointed with the result produced by Passport Size Photo Maker… To be honest, it was the first app on Play Store on the 23/03/20 with 4.8/5 stars but I honestly wouldn’t rate it as good. What I think is that it is not intuitive at all, you have to crop your images manually and the quality of the picture is pixelated. I have tried both: to take a picture with my smartphone and to take a photo from my gallery. I can tell you that it is better for you to take your own shot with this app, as it is very difficult to modify any pictures already taken. Eventually, you can’t zoom properly, the colours look grim and the cursor to modify your photo are slow and tough to use…
