Dimensions and background requirements in Canada visa photo
Your Canadian visa photo must measure 35x45 mm (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm), and must be taken against a plain and neutral background. The resolution should be 305 dpi, with natural colours. “Natural” means that the photo cannot be edited or retouched, as it needs to reflect your current appearance.
Head measurements and facial expressions in a Canadian visa photo
Head height in the photo should be up to 34.7 mm, with 3 mm of space between the top of the hair and the top of the photo. Facial expression must remain neutral, i.e., no smiling or grinning is allowed; mouth must be closed and eyes must be wide open.
Glasses and accessories in a Canadian visa photo
Prescription glasses are allowed as long as the frames do not cover the eyes, there are no glare or flash reflections in the lenses, and the lenses are not tinted. Hats, caps, and shiny jewellery are not allowed in the photo, as they may either obstruct the face or cause reflections.
Religious attire in a Canadian visa photo
Religious attire such as head coverings are allowed as long as your face remains visible. Also, make sure there is no hair protruding from the headgear, and there are no shadows covering the face.
