  • 2 (two) identical 2 x 2 inches Moroccan passport photos;
  • a money order of $89.64.

If you don’t have a valid identity card, you can apply for a new CNIE and send the receipt to apply for a passport. In this case, you also have to include a birth certificate.

If you are not registered at the Consulate, you need an additional money order of $7.30 and a residence card.

After handing everything in, the clerk will give you a receipt with a tracking number that, after about 10 (ten) business days, you can use to track the status of your application. Generally, the renewal of a Moroccan passport in the US takes between 4 (four) and 6 (six) weeks.

To pick up biometric passports, Moroccan citizens have to go to the consular office with the receipt and their identity card. A valid passport will be officially canceled, after not being reclaimed for 6 (six) months.

Applying for children’s passports might require a few additional documents, depending on the age of the minor. For applicants between 12 (twelve) and 18 (eighteen) years of age, the procedure doesn’t change.

Children under the age of 12 (twelve) need to be accompanied by both parents/legal guardians. In addition, the Consulate will ask for the following documents:

  • birth certificate/report of birth abroad or copies of the family record book (the names of the child and the parents need to be written both in Arabic and Latin characters);
  • if the parents cannot attend, an authorization form signed in front of a notary public.

The passport of a child under age 3 (three) will be valid for 3 (three) years.
