To renew a Nigerian passport online, you will need to follow a few steps on the Immigration service website:

  • Step 1: go to the Immigration service website. 
  • Step 2: pick E-passport from the passport menu, and select standard E-passport.
  • Step 3: Choose the processing country and start the online application form.
  • Step 4: choose one between four possible accounts: Google, Yahoo, Open ID, or Facebook. After logging in or creating an account you can fill in the form.
  • Step 5: select the processing Embassy or office that holds jurisdiction in your area, print a copy of the form, and click submit.

After successful submission, the system will provide you with a Reference Number and an Application id. Proceed to the online payment and save the receipt.

After completing the application, print out the page with the tracking numbers and mail the required information to the indicated address.

After completing the online process, you will have to turn in these 7 (seven) documents at the local Nigerian Embassy:

  • A copy of the online application form
  • The online payment receipt
  • The online acknowledgment slips
  • Your expired Nigerian passport
