Excellent service. Very good software that enhanced our photos. They also did a manual check and had me redo one of the pictures for free. I have only used online passport photos for more than 10 years. This is by far the best.

Pauline Jackson

Can't thank these people enough, they have gone above and beyond today to produce a lovely passport photograph from my poor photograph. Thank you for all your efforts. I would recommend this company good value, professional and kind.

Danish Baby Passport Photo Guidelines

Danish baby passport photos contain biometric information: the child’s precise characteristics in that case, which is why it is important to clearly show their face on their passport photo. No smile, no funny faces, eyes open… To learn more about the guidelines and precise requirements expressed by the competent authorities for a baby passport photo in Denmark, we encourage you to read the instructions below.

General Requirements & Size for a Danish Baby Passport Photo

While creating or renewing a Baby/Child Danish passport, you will be asked to provide a photo of your child, and this passport photo has to comply with some general requirements for it to be validated by authorities in Denmark or by any Danish embassy/consulate. Here below are listed some requirements and size information regarding Danish baby passport photo :

  • Two photos are required when applying for a Danish Baby Passport,
  • The photos have to be identical and recent,
  • For Danish Baby passport photos, a neutral, white background is required.
  • From the background, your facial features should clearly contrast
  • A close-up of the child’s head and shoulders must appear in the Passport photo
  • The Passport photo must be clear and in sharp focus
  • No shadows should be seen in the Passport Photo either on the face or background.
  • The child’s face must be centered, looking directly at the camera with eyes open (this last part does not apply for babies)
  • On your child’s Passport Photo, mouth should be closed, showing no teeth if it is possible
  • It is mentioned in Danish Baby Passport Photo requirements that, unless for religious reasons, the face should be uncovered with no hats or headcover.

Technical Requirements for the Danish Baby Passport Photo

The requirements for passport photos are the same for children and adults.

  • Size: The standard passport photos size in Denmark is 45 x 35mm
  • Color: Danish Passport photo can be in colour or in black and white.
  • Resolution : 600dpi resolution or better

Shadows and colors of the Passport photo

The Passport photo must represent the color of your child’s natural color. It is for this particular reason that it must not be black and white, over-exposed or under-exposed. The best choice you have is to try to use natural daylight to have the most realistic effect to get rid of unwanted shadows.

Our tips for this:

  • Take the photo in front of a window or a natural source of light.
  • There should be a 2 meters space (7 feet) between your child and the camera.
  • Check that the light is uniformly dispersed on the child’s face
  • Do not use a flash lamp because it can create an unnatural "red eyes" effect that causes many images to be refused.

Can my baby wear headgear on the Danish Passport Photo?

Your baby can wear headgears on an official biometric photo for a passport in Denmark.

Only headgears worn for religious reasons are accepted, according to Denmark’s Passport Photo requirements. Beside religious headgears, it is forbidden to wear a cap or any kind of headgears that could cover the child’s face. Ears and the oval of the face should be completely visible.

Dress code for Danish Baby Passport photo

You are free to dress your child as you want. We recommend you to avoid light-colored clothing.

Children - Biometric Photo Baby Passport Denmark

When traveling with parents, family or friends in a non-visa-free country, even children are going to need their own Danish passport. Age doesn't matter when it comes to passports, and so children are not exempt from these rules. When submitting for a Danish passport, children are also asked to provide an individualized Passport photo of them that is not older than 6 months old. It is quite a challenge to get a correct Passport photo of small children, but it is a must-have when applying for a Passport in Denmark. Besides the others regulations mentioned above, here are also listed other details you should be careful of when you are taking your child Passport photo :

  • Children must be on their own in the picture with no other objects or people. Toys, bottles and pacifiers or any other objects cannot be photographed with your child. No toys, pacifiers or any other objects should be visible on your child Passport photo.
  • Babies must not be holding toys or using dummies.
  • Young children under 6 don't need to look at the camera specifically or have a neutral face.
  • Children under 1 are not required to have their eyes open. If their head is supported by a hand, the hand mustn’t be visible in the photo.
  • To assure a good position, the child can be either placed on the floor or you can place them in a car seat.

Danish Baby Passport Photos - Most common mistakes

It's the most irritating thing in the world to have a passport application refused only because of a photo. To arrange this passport application, you took time off work, only to find out you have to go through the whole process again because your photographs have been declined. We listed for you some common reasons that can get your Danish Baby Passport Photos rejected :

  • If you smile or make a funny face - Unfortunately, if there’s a smile in the photo for your child’s passport, then it will be refused. It basically has to look the same way that a mugshot - it requires a neutral/serious expression.
  • “Red eye” effect - when taking a picture using a strong flash, the pupils could appear as if they are red - which would cause the photo to be refused. To avoid this, please be careful that the pupils are clearly visible, that the light is natural and evenly dispersed so that the eyes and the structure of the face is well defined.
  • Having a Passport photo creased, having staple holes or otherwise marked could get your photo rejected.
  • Uneven lighting - in order to see the details precisely for the biometric photo and to prevent shadow, the light must be distributed evenly on your child’s face, or else the photo could get rejected.
  • Digital retouching to alter or enhance the facial features - Using any photo editor software like Photoshop to modify your child’s appearance is not allowed for official passport photos.

You do not have to change it yourself. Our background removing tool precisely deletes the wrong background to replace it with a light, white, correct background.

No - You have to book an appointment online with a Citizen Service Centre. The documents you must bring are your child’s old danish passport and a photo that complies with the official requirements.

Artificial Intelligence can check photos in a very precise manner and verify if they will be accepted by the competent authorities. Nevertheless, if AI cannot seem to understand what is wrong with your photo, there will be a human verification. After this, we will send you your photo, and you can be sure that it will be accepted - and if for whatever reason (which never happens) your photo gets rejected, we will give you a total refund.

You will need 2 identical pictures of your child taken within the last month for the Danish Baby passport application.

This is absolutely forbidden. If you modify any of your child’s facial features or use a filter and alter the natural colors of the face, the photo will get rejected, because it will be not considered biometric.

Of course - any device with a camera that takes relatively good pictures works!

Baby Passport in Denmark - Specifications

The same nationality is held by the nationals of Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. All of them are nationals of the Kingdom of Denmark. In general, obtaining a passport helps to encourage international travel and also acts as evidence of Danish citizenship. The choice between the EU-Danish passport and the local Greenland-Danish passport is given to Danish nationals living in Greenland. Every Danish resident - with the exception of nationals living in the Faroe Islands - is also a European Union citizen. A Danish passport thus entitles the holder of the passport to freedom of travel within the EEA and Switzerland. Due to the Nordic Passport Union, no identification documentation is needed for Nordic citizens if Danish passport holders wish to travel within the Nordic countries.

The Visa Restrictions Index reported in January 2019 that Danish citizens may enter 187 countries without a visa or with a visa issued upon arrival. Keep reading, and you'll know what the photo requirements for Danish baby passports are, how to renew your Danish baby/child passport, how much it costs, and what the requirements for photo size and format are.

Save time and money by putting together a professional online Danish baby passport photo! Our passport photo editor will automatically crop and edit the background and check whether your passport photo meets all the official requirements for a Danish biometric photo (such as size) (suitable for Denmark passport application and renewal). This way, you can be sure that every Danish passport office will recognize your biometric photograph.

Danish Passport for babies and children

It is no longer possible for children to move around with a passport from their parents. Children under the age of 18 must, therefore, apply for a Children's Passport for ordinary travel, such as holidays in a non-visa-free country. Fingerprints are collected from children from the age of 12 and a digital signature from the age of 5. Passports are valid for 2 years for children aged 0-2. Passports for children between 2-18 years of age are valid for five years.

. The Danish Passport required Documents for any applicants under 18 years old are:

  • One Application Form completed and signed on page 2 by a parent.

If you have submitted additional information or documentation, you must ensure that this is processed by the Embassy within 30 days of the date of submission, as the application information will be automatically cancelled after this time in the passport system. After that, a new request would have to be made and the fee paid again.

How much a Danish Child Passport costs?

In Denmark, the price of a new passport will differ depending on your age. According to the latest Danish passport application price policy (2019), the fee for a child passport is currently DKK 995.

Danish Baby Passports lost/stolen abroad or within Denmark

If the current passport of your child has been lost/stolen domestically, this should be promptly reported to the local police.
