Taking a photo for your ID has never been so easy.
Follow these simple instruction to take the perfect ID photo.
The distance between the face and the camera should be about 40 cm. Ideally the photo should be taken by the other person.
Place your face in front of the lens. Hold the camera at eye level and keep neutral face expression.
Stand facing the light source, for example an exposed window. The background will be cut out, don't worry about it.
Having an appropriate visa photo can determine whether your Sweden visa application will go through. Therefore, stick to the following guidelines to make sure your Sweden visa photo is just as it should be:
Make sure you provide a recent, colored photo that is not older than 6 months.
As with other Schengen visas, the one for entering Sweden must also measure 35×45 mm. It should feature a close-up of your head and top of your shoulders, with the face taking up 70-80% of the photo.
Your Swedish visa photo should be taken against a plain, light-colored background. Make sure there are no objects or people behind you, as this can result in your application being rejected. Additionally, wear casual clothes that are different colors from the background, as this can affect the contrast between the background and the face.
You must maintain a neutral facial expression while taking your visa photo. Smiling is not allowed, so keep that in mind. Furthermore, you have to keep your eyes fully open and your mouth closed, with the face centered in the photo.
Prescription glasses are the only type of glasses allowed in a visa photo. They can be worn, as long as they do not obscure the eyes and there are no reflections on the lenses. Sunglasses and tinted glasses are only allowed for medical reasons.
Headgear is allowed only for religious or medical reasons. In that case, all facial features must be clearly visible from the chin to the crown of the head.
Hats, scarves, caps, and other non-religious head coverings are not permitted on Swedish visa photos.
